Access Control
Collaborate offers enhanced security with the access control feature. Analysts have the ability to allow or block countries or IP addresses using access control. This allows them to manage user access to the Collaborate Analyst Portal.
Note
Ensure that you are connected to a public network to retrieve country and IP address details.
Configure Access Control
You can configure access control for your Collaborate application.
Before you Start
Ensure that you have the View and Create or Update permissions for the Access Control feature.
Steps
To apply access control mode, follow these steps:
Go to Administration > Settings > Other Settings > Access Control.
To configure access control, use the following information:
To activate access control, turn on the Enable Access Control toggle.
Apply a Mode to Access Control: Admins can enable the allow access or block access mode. Allow access mode provides access only to users from the listed countries and IP ranges. On the other hand, the block access mode restricts access from the listed countries and IP ranges. Before enabling the feature, it is best practice to add your country and IP to the allowed list.
Note
The feature only works when either country or IP addresses are allowed or blocked. Enabling or disabling the feature will have no impact if no data is configured.
Add IP addresses to the Block List or Allow List
You can add IP addresses to the allow or block list.
Before you Start
Ensure that you have the View and Create or Update permissions for the Access Control feature.
Steps
To add an IP address to the Allow or Block List, follow these steps:
Select IP/IP Range and click Add.
Select IP/IP Range and enter the IP address in the IP/IP Range field.
Provide a suitable reason for allowing or blocking the IP address. This is a mandatory field.
Click Add.
To perform additional actions, hover over an IP address, click the vertical ellipsis, and use the following information:
Click Edit to edit the IP address or reason.
Click Delete to delete the IP address.
Add Countries to the Block List or Allow List
You can allow or block a list of countries.
Before you Start
Ensure that you have the View and Create or Update permissions for the Access Control feature.
Steps
To add countries to the Allow or Block List, follow these steps:
Select Country and click Add.
Select Country and select the required countries from the drop-down.
Provide a suitable reason for allowing or blocking the countries. This is a mandatory field.
Click Add.
To perform additional actions, hover over a country, click the vertical ellipsis, and use the following information:
Click Edit to edit the country or reason.
Click Delete to delete the country.
