Manage Activity Logs

Activity logs are system events that are automatically generated with time stamps to provide audit trails. Log entries include details of the user, the action items executed, date of creation, and previous and current changes incurred with the unique component IDs (for example, #INC 3245 or #VUL 2345). Each activity log records information for an individual event type.

View Logs

To view the activity logs of the above-mentioned components:

  1. Go to Menu and select a component.

  2. Click the Activity Logs button on the top-right corner of the page.

You can click the unique ID of a log to view the details of the component.

Search/Filter Logs

You can use the search bar on the activity logs to search for a specific log entry or use the filter options to filter the logs. You can filter the logs based on the events associated with the individual log entries. To filter the log entries:

  1. Click the search bar on the activity logs page. The Filters section displays the list of available filters.

  2. Select the filters from the available filter types:

    Field

    Description

    Action

    Comment - Filters log entries that include a comment.

    Update - Filters log entries when components are updated.

    Create - Filters log entries when components are created.

    Created

    Select the start and end date to filter results based on the selected date range.

    User

    Select the username from the list to filter results based on the selected users.

  3. Click Enter to apply the filters. The log updates and show only the entries from the filter types that you have selected.

Export Logs

You can export the activity logs to a PDF file. The PDF file is emailed to you with a direct download link in the user console.

To export activity logs:

  1. Select the Export icon next to the Activity Logs header

  2. Click PDF.
