Manage OS Types
You can associate an Operating System (OS) with assets, such as servers, mobile devices, endpoints, and software, to specify the OS used by the assets. The OS types help to:
Specify and map an operating system to an incident to improve incident response.
View and analyze suspicious activity using the recurring OS Types identified
Some of examples of OS types are:
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Microsoft Windows Server 2008
UNIX
Linux
Mac OS X
To manage and view the OS types added in CFTR, go to Admin Panel > Settings > OS Type. You can view the following details of the OS types:
OS Title
Created
Last Updated
You can search and modify an OS type and view the activity logs to track the updates of the OS types.
Add OS Type
You must have Create/Update permissions for OS Types to add an OS type.
Note
You cannot delete an OS type later.
To add an OS type, do the following:
Go to Admin Panel > Settings > OS Types.
Click Add OS Type at the top-right.
Enter the details of the OS.
Click Add.
