Workspaces
Notice
This feature is available in Orchestrate from the release version v3.4.1 and later.
Playbooks go through various stages of development before they are production ready, such as development, testing, staging, and more. Managing playbooks and other resources that are in different stages of development in a single environment can be challenging.
Workspaces in Orchestrate enable administrators to create separate work environments to manage playbooks, apps, Open APIs, Cyware Agents, and other resources. Administrators can also control user access to the workspaces based on the user roles and add an additional layer of security to the playbooks and resources. For example, administrators can create Development, Testing, and Production workspaces and assign relevant user groups.
Overall, workspaces can help to improve organization, isolation, and security when working with various Orchestrate resources.
Key Benefits of Workspaces
Some of the key benefits of enabling workspaces in Orchestrate are:
Better organization of resources: Group your resources in a logical way making it easier to locate them when needed. This is especially important in larger environments with many playbooks. For example, analysts can store the production-ready playbooks in the Production workspace and the playbooks in the development phase in the Development workspace.
Define better access control on resources: Establish better access control on your playbooks and other resources that contain sensitive data or are production-ready and restrict them to specific users or groups. For example, administrators can manage the playbook development and execution in separate workspaces by assigning the relevant user roles.
Isolate environments to manage resources: Workspaces provide a level of isolation between different sets of playbooks. This can be useful when you have multiple environments that require different playbooks with access privileges. By separating these playbooks into different workspaces, you can reduce the risk of unintended consequences.
