Delete Playbooks

You can delete playbooks that are no longer needed to ensure only relevant playbooks are available in the playbook library. You can delete playbooks from both the playbook listing page and the playbook canvas.

You cannot delete a playbook in the following scenarios:

  • If the playbook is associated with any master playbooks or sub-playbooks. To delete the playbook, Unlink or delete the nodes associated with other playbooks.

  • If the workspace feature is enabled and the playbook has any pending publish requests. To delete the playbook, review and respond to the publish requests.

Note

  • If a playbook is deleted while it is being executed, its execution will be terminated.

  • Agent tasks that are in the queue or in progress and involve deleted playbooks will be terminated.

You can delete playbooks in the following two ways:

Ensure that you have Delete Playbook permission for playbooks.

Steps 

Delete a Playbook from the Listing Page

To delete a playbook from the Manage Playbook's listing page, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Main Menu, and select Playbooks > Manage Playbooks.

  2. Hover over the playbook you want to delete, and click the ellipsis icon.

  3. Select Delete.

  4. In the confirmation popup, enter a comment for deletion, and click Delete.

The playbook is deleted and you can view the activity logs related to the playbook deletion in the Activity Logs.

Delete a Playbook from the Playbook Canvas

To delete a playbook from the playbook canvas, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Main Menu, and select Playbooks > Manage Playbooks.

  2. Open an existing playbook you want to delete, and click the ellipsis icon.

  3. Select Delete.

  4. In the confirmation popup, enter a comment for deletion, and click Delete.

The playbook is deleted and you can view the activity logs related to the playbook deletion in the Activity Logs.
