Upgrade App Versions in Playbooks after Import
Analysts can upgrade apps to the latest version to use the latest features and enhancements. In addition, the apps which have been used in Playbooks can also be upgraded.
Orchestrate 3.X supports the capability to import apps developed in a 2.X instance to a 3.X environment. If you export an app from a 2.X instance, and it is of a higher version than the app version in 3.X, then you can choose to upgrade the app nodes in all of the Playbooks associated with the app.
Before you Start
Ensure you have the Create/Update App Config permission to import the app.
Steps
Export the App from CSOL 2.X
You can also move apps from one instance to another using the export feature. In 2.X, you can export apps only in a .zip format.
To export an app from a CSOL 2.X instance:
Sign in to CSOL 2.X instance, and go to Main Menu > Apps.
Select the app under My Apps.
In the Summary tab, click Export.
The app exports as a .zip file.
Import the App in Orchestrate 3.X
Orchestrate provides the capability to import a custom library that is developed off-site to your Orchestrate environment, using the Import App Package icon under the Apps listing page.
To import an app package in Orchestrate 3.X instance:
Sign in to Orchestrate 3.X instance, and go to Main Menu > Apps.
Click Import App Package.
Browse and select the app zip package you want to import.
A notification shows the progress of the import.
Upgrade or Skip the Upgrade of App Nodes in Playbook
After importing the app, if one or more Playbooks uses the app, a prompt displays with the total number of Playbooks that uses the app. You can choose to upgrade the app's action node for all the associated Playbooks or simply skip this action.
To upgrade the version of the app in all the associated Playbooks, click Yes, Update. Upon successful upgrade, expand the prompt to view the version and the list of upgraded Playbooks.
To skip upgrading the version of the app in all the associated Playbooks, click Cancel. Upon skipping the upgrade, the nodes in the Playbooks remain unchanged.
