Configure X (Twitter) Feed Accounts

Configure an X (Twitter) feed account to poll feeds from the integrated Twitter account.

Before you Start

  • Ensure you create a Twitter Developer Account to authenticate the Twitter feed in the Intel Exchange application.

  • Ensure that you have View Twitter and Update Twitter permissions to add accounts and view feeds.

Steps

To add an X (Twitter) account, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to Intel Exchange.

  2. Go to Administration > Integration Management.

  3. In Feed Sources, select X (Twitter).

  4. Click Add Account. Use the following information while adding the account:

    • Account Title: Enter a unique title to identify the account in X (Twitter) Feeds.

    • API Key: Enter the API Key from your Twitter Developer account.

    • API Secret Key: Enter the API secret key.

    • Access Token: Enter the access token.

    • Access Token Secret: Enter the access token secret.

    • To assign default metadata (such as TLP, confidence score, and more) to report objects, select Assign Default Metadata to Report and provide the following information:

      • TLP: Select a default TLP to be assigned to the report from X.

      • Confidence Score: Set a default confidence score to be assigned to the report from X.

      • Deprecates after: Set the duration (in days) after which the threat data (indicator) will be deprecated, unless the source provides an expiry duration (Range: 1–180 days). If the same indicator is received from multiple sources, the longest valid duration is applied.

      • Custom Scores: Set the default values for custom scores to be assigned to the report from X.

      • Tags: To identify and categorize the account, add tags.

      • To assign the metadata to all objects associated with the report object, select Apply Default Metadata to all objects. If not selected, metadata is assigned only to the report object.

  5. Click Save.

You can add multiple accounts to poll X (Twitter) feeds. However, at any given moment, you can view feeds only from one X (Twitter) account.

Manage X (Twitter) Feed Account

You can perform the following actions to manage X (Twitter) feed accounts:

Users with read-only permissions cannot update or delete feed account details.

  • Edit: Update account details such as the account title, API key, API secret key, access token, and access token secret. Click the vertical ellipsis to access this option.

  • Disable: Temporarily disable the account from receiving feeds in Intel Exchange. The account credentials remain saved, allowing you to re-enable the account when required.

  • Delete: Permanently delete the account from the application. To resume receiving feeds from this account, you must configure it again.

  • Test Connectivity: Verify if the account is successfully polling feeds from X by clicking Test Connectivity in Working Status.
