Clone a Read-Only Group

You can create a new read-only group by cloning the default Read-Only group provided in Intel Exchange. You can also clone a custom read-only group.

Before you Start

Ensure that you have View User Groups, Create User Groups, and Update User Groups permissions.

Steps

To clone a read-only group and create a new group, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Administration > User Management > User Groups.

  2. Click the ellipsis of the default Read Only Group or any custom read-only group and select Clone. This clones the user group with the same set of assigned permissions. You can add new users to this group. Enter the following details.

    • Name: Enter a group name within 50 characters. For example, Read-Only Users - Threat Data, to create a user group for analysts that only require view access to Threat Data.

    • Description: Enter a description within 300 characters to describe the user group.

    • Read Only User Group: Turn on Read Only User Group to create a user group with limited permissions. By default, it is disabled.

    • User Group Status: Turn on User Group Status to set the group's status to active. By default, it is disabled. You can only add users to an active user group.

    • Permissions:  Select one or more permissions to assign to the user group.

      Note

Read-only users do not have permission to create or update. However, you can assign permissions to create private saved searches and create private report schedules. For more information about the Read-Only Users Permission set, see User Groups Permission Set.

  3. Click Add User Group.

You can view details about the user group under User Groups, such as the user group name, the creator of the group, the number of users in the group, the number of permissions assigned, and the status of the group.
