Summary Widgets

Summary widgets provide an aggregate of threat data objects received over a selected date range, such as the number of domains received in August. You can add system-defined and custom widgets while creating a dashboard. For system widgets, you can monitor changes compared to the previous time frame, facilitating trend analysis.

Create Custom Summary Widgets

You can use a saved search query to create a custom summary widget to suit your preferences and monitoring needs. You can create up to 100 custom widgets.

Before you Start

You must have Create Dashboards, View Dashboards, and Update Dashboards permissions.

Steps

To create a summary widget, do the following:

  1. Go to Main Menu > Dashboards.

  2. Click Add Dashboard

For more information about adding a dashboard, see Custom Dashboards

  3. To add Summary Widgets, click +.

  4. Click Create Custom Widget.

  5. Select a saved search query to preview the widget.

If you don’t have a saved search, you can use the default system saved search queries or create a saved search query. For more information, see Save CQL Queries. Refresh the saved searches to view the newly added saved queries.

  6. Under Widget Details, enter the following details:

    • Widget Name: Enter a unique widget name within 100 characters. By default, the platform picks the name of the selected saved search query.

    • Count of: Select an object or metric to be counted and displayed in this widget. You can also choose the All Objects option from the drop-down list to obtain statistics for all objects aligning to the selected saved search.

    • (Optional) Preview Time Frame: Select a time frame to preview the widget. By default, you can view data for the last seven days.

    Note

The data in the preview state is solely for presentation purposes and will get overridden when you save and add the widget to the dashboard.

  7. In the bottom left corner, click Create Custom Widget.

You can view the created widget in the earlier selected widget cell. The platform may take some time to load the data.

You can replace the widget on the dashboard if the creator deletes the saved search query used to create it or converts it into a private saved query.
