Read-Only Users

Notice

This feature is available in CTIX from the release version v3.3.4 and later.

Users that belong to read-only groups are called read-only users. Administrators can add read-only users to custom read-only groups with additional View permissions for other CTIX features. The Create and Update permissions are not available for read-only groups. For more information on the full list of permissions available for read-only groups, see User Groups Permission Set.

CTIX also provides a default Read Only group with read-only permissions applied for specific components. Read-only users can also be added to the default group.

Note

A read-only user can be a part of multiple read-only groups, but not a general user group with data modification permissions in CTIX.

Create Read-Only Users

Administrators can create read-only users using the user creation form.

To create read-only users using the user creation form, do the following:

Before you Start

  • You must have View Users, Create Users, and Update Users permissions.

  • You must configure your email server settings to receive emails in case of a new password is generated or when the password is reset. To configure the email server, see Configure Email Server.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Administration, select User Management, and select User Listing.

  2. Click Add User and enter the following information:

    Note

    * denotes a mandatory field.

    • First Name*: Enter the first name of the new user.

    • Last Name: Enter the last name of the new user.

    • Email*: Enter the user’s email. This email is used to send email notifications from the CTIX application.

    • User name: Enter the username of the user.

    • Code: Enter the country code of the mobile number as a prefix of the user.

    • Mobile: Enter the mobile number to receive the login details for the CTIX application. This is also used to send SMS alerts and for two-factor authentication.

    • Read Only User: Toggle to make the user a read-only user and assign read-only groups for access permissions.

    • Permission Group(s)*: Select the read-only user group to define the user-related permissions. To know more about read-only user groups, see Read-Only User Groups.

      Note

A read-only user can belong to multiple read-only groups.

  3. Click Add User.

An invite email is sent to the new user to create an initial password. Users can follow the on-screen procedure to get started with the CTIX application.

Note

Your subscription plan includes a separate license count for read-only users. The platform uses separate stock-keeping units (SKUs) to maintain the number of read-only users. If you have exhausted the maximum limit, contact Cyware Support to increase the limit. To know more about the platform limits for users, see Data Limits.
