Schedule and Configure Alert Recurrence

As an analyst, you can schedule alerts to be published at a specific date and time and configure recurrence to automatically publish alerts at defined intervals. This helps automate the delivery of recurring threat intelligence updates.

Steps

To schedule and configure alert recurrence, follow these steps:

  1. Click Create Alert and fill in the details in the Basic Information and Additional Information sections.

  2. In Sharing Options, go to the Restrictions & Alert Options section, and select the Schedule publish time and recurrence for this alert checkbox. Use the following information to configure the fields:

    • Timezone: Select the timezone used to determine the alert publication time. The default value is your system timezone.

    • Date: Select the date when the alert should first be published.

      Note

The Recurrence field remains disabled until you select a publish date. The recurrence schedule is based on this date.

    • Time: Select the time when the alert should be published.

    • Recurrence: Select how often the alert should repeat from this dropdown. By default, Does Not Repeat is selected. The following options are available:

      Note

This feature is available in Collaborate v3.8.12 onwards.

      • Does Not Repeat: Publishes the alert only once at the scheduled time.

      • Daily: Publishes the alert every day. For example, if the alert is scheduled for March 10 at 09:00, it is published every day at 09:00.

      • Weekly on <Day>: Publishes the alert every week on the selected weekday. For example, if the alert is scheduled on Wednesday, it is published every Wednesday.

      • Every weekday (Monday to Friday): Publishes the alert on weekdays only.

      • Monthly on <Nth Weekday>: Publishes the alert on the same weekday and week of each month. For example, if scheduled on the fourth Monday, the alert is published on the fourth Monday of every month. If an alert is scheduled on the 31st of every month, and a month does not have 31 days, the alert is published on the 1st of the following month.

      • Annually on <Date>: Publishes the alert every year on the selected date. For example, if scheduled on March 10th, the alert is published on March 10th every year.

      • Custom: Allows you to configure recurrence options according to your requirements. For more information, see Configure Custom Recurrence.

    • Ends: Specify when the recurring alert should stop publishing using one of the following options:

      • On: Specify the date on which the alert should stop publishing. The default value for Occurrence is 10.

      • After: Specify the number of occurrences after which the alert stops publishing.

By default, alerts stop repeating after 10 occurrences. You can configure up to 366 occurrences.

  3. Click Preview to review the alert, and then click Publish to schedule the alert. The alert is published according to the configured date, time, and recurrence settings.

The scheduled alert is created only after the parent alert is published. For example, if you set 5 occurrences for an alert, those alerts are scheduled only after the parent alert is published.

Configure Custom Recurrence

If predefined recurrence options do not meet your requirements, select Custom to define a custom recurrence pattern. A Custom Recurrence dialog box appears where you can define how frequently the alert repeats. To define the recurrence options, use the following information:

Repeat Every: Specify how frequently the alert should repeat by selecting one of the following options:

  • Day: Repeats the alert every specified number of days.

  • Week: Repeats the alert every specified number of weeks. When this option is selected, the Repeat On field appears, allowing you to select the days of the week on which the alert should be published.

  • Month: Repeats the alert every specified number of months. When you select this option, the Execute Every Month On field appears. The available options are derived from the initial publish date and include the following:

    • Monthly on Day <number>: Publishes the alert on the same calendar date each month. For example, if you select 23 March as the publish date, the alert repeats as Monthly on Day 23.

    • Monthly on <nth weekday>: Publishes the alert on the same weekday and week of the month as the initial publish date. For example, if the publish date falls on the first Tuesday of the month, the alert repeats as Monthly on the first Tuesday.

  • Year: Repeats the alert every specified number of years on the selected date.
