Clone Instances
You can clone app instances and reuse the app configuration parameters across versions. This eliminates the need to recreate instances, thereby saving time and effort.
Note
This feature is available in Orchestrate Next Gen v3.12.8 onwards.
You cannot clone an instance in the following cases:
When the app version to which you are cloning has additional mandatory fields in configurations compared to the instance in the existing app version.
When the app version you are cloning to has mandatory fields with data types that do not match those in the existing instance.
Before you Start
Ensure that your user group has permission to Create/Update App Instances.
You can clone instances in one of the following ways:
Clone an Instance to Other Versions
You can clone an instance to multiple versions of an app.
Steps
To clone an instance, follow these steps:
In the main menu, select Apps
Go to an app, and select Instances.
Hover over an instance and click Clone.
Select the app versions to clone the instance and click Clone.
Note
If an app instance with the same name already exists in the selected app versions, then cloning will overwrite the existing instance and its configurations.
Clone Instances from Another Version
You can clone multiple instances from a selected version of an app.
Steps
To clone an instance, follow these steps:
From the main menu, click Apps
Go to an app, and select Instances.
Click Clone Instances
Select the App Version and choose one or more App Instances.
Click Clone.
Note
If an app instance with the same name already exists in the selected app versions, then cloning will overwrite the existing instance and its configurations.
