Getting Started with Workspaces

This section provides a guided walkthrough of the steps required to set up and use workspaces in Orchestrate.

Admin Configurations for Workspaces

An administrator must perform the following steps to enable and create workspaces:

To get started with workspaces, the first step is to enable Workspaces in Admin Panel > Configuration > CO Configuration. After you enable it, admin groups can access the workspace module in Admin Panel. Create your first workspace and data from playbooks, apps, and other key resources will be migrated to this workspace. For more information on enabling workspaces, see Configure General Settings.

You can create additional workspaces such as Dev and Production. Use these workspaces to plan the organization of playbooks, apps, and other resources into specific workspaces based on your requirements. You must specify the user groups that can use this workspace. You can create a maximum of 10 workspaces. For more information on creating workspaces, see Manage Workspaces.

Configure Default Workspace

You can set a default workspace to ensure it displays whenever you access Orchestrate. This setting is user-specific and applies only to your account. Both administrators and analysts can configure their default workspace.

To set a workspace as the default, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to Orchestrate, and click your profile picture in the upper-right corner.

  2. Click My Profile.

  3. In My Profile, Click Edit.

  4. In Default Workspace, select a workspace to set as the default.

  5. Click Save.

Note

You can switch between workspaces using the workspace dropdown on the top.

Best Practices to Work with Workspaces

Administrators must consider the following best practices before working with workspaces:

Best Practices for Administrators:

  • Administrators must review the assigned permissions of a user group before adding a user group as an allowed user group to a workspace, as users will have access to playbooks, apps, and other resources based on the user groups permissions.

  • Administrators should create only a required number of workspaces for effective management of workspaces.
