User Interface Overview

This topic provides an overview of the common elements of the application User Interface (UI). The common UI elements are placed in the side menu bar and the top bar.

Side Menu Bar

The side menu bar on the left of the application UI provides access to all features and the admin panel for quick access. Users can customize the side menu bar to quickly access frequently used features.

The important elements and functions of the side menu bar are:

Menu

You can access all primary features of Orchestrate from the menu.

  • Dashboard: The dashboard summarizes the activity of different modules. For more information, see Analytics Dashboard.

  • Playbooks: Playbooks are a well-defined set of actions that are organized as a workflow to respond to an incident or a threat. For more information, see Playbooks.

  • Triggers: You can configure triggers to automatically trigger the execution of a playbook based on the occurrence of an event. For more information, see Labels, Triggers, and Events.

  • Apps: Provides a rich Appstore library that contains a comprehensive list of apps required to integrate, orchestrate, and respond using different security tools. For more information, see Apps.

You can perform the following activities to manage the features in the menu:

  • Search for a feature.

  • Collapse or expand the feature groups.

  • Pin a feature to the application navigator for quick access.

  • Show menu synopsis.

  • Navigate to the landing screen of Orchestrate using the home button.

  • Click Get Started to view the walkthrough of the overview, playbooks, and apps.

  • Reorder the groups as per your preference. You can also reorder the modules within a group.

Admin Panel

The admin panel includes all the features and configurations performed by the administrator in one place, such as user and user group management, tenant management, configurations, open API, webhooks, and more.

Top Bar

Users can quickly access the features such as notifications, help, and my profile from the top bar. The features and functions of the topbar are described in the following table.

Dark and Light Modes 

Switch between light mode and dark mode for a personalized viewing experience.

You can use keyboard shortcuts to quickly perform common actions in the user interface. The shortcut keys depend on the browser and operating system you are using. For more information on the supported keyboard shortcuts, see Keyboard Shortcuts

My Profile 

View and manage your profile details in the application. You can also configure your preferences, such as notification preferences and the date and time settings.

Keyboard Shortcuts

You can use keyboard shortcuts to quickly perform common actions in the user interface. The shortcut keys depend on the operating system you are using.

Keyboard shortcuts are a combination of keys that serve as an alternative to help you perform actions in the application. Currently, keyboard shortcuts are supported for playbooks, apps, and other generic actions both on Mac and Windows.

The keyboard shortcuts are categorized as follows:

  • General: Lists the shortcuts that can be used across the application. For example, search, export, import, and more.

  • Playbooks: Lists the shortcuts that can be used inside the playbook canvas and to perform certain playbook tasks. For example, zoom in, zoom fit, save Playbook, and more.

  • Apps: Lists the shortcuts that can be used to perform an action on apps. For example, uninstall an app, sync, export a Python file, and more.

To view the list of keyboard shortcuts, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to Orchestrate, and click the help icon in the upper-right corner.

  2. Click Keyboard Shortcuts or click Option + O.

  3. Select the General, Playbooks, or Apps tab to view the supported keyboard shortcuts.
